On the 1st anniversary of Sylvester’s sad passing his wife Elaine, sister Olivia and family of the late Sylvester Heslin would like to express our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all those who sympathised and supported us on our sad loss.
We offer our sincere thanks to family, friends, neighbours and relatives for their support and kindness to us all.
We are truly grateful for the letters, telephone calls, mass and sympathy cards, text messages, condolence messages online, to all who travelled long distances and watched online to pay their respects. To everyone who assisted in any way both inside and outside the house.
We would like to thank Sylvester’s GP Dr Paddy Breslin and his staff, Cara Pharmacy, the podiatry clinic, the leg ulcer clinic in Primary Care, the doctors and nurses in the eye and ear hospital, Dr Shu Hoashi Mullingar and all in the diabetic clinic in Mullingar, Dr Senan Glynn Mullingar all the staff in the dialysis unit Tullamore, Coronary care in both Tullamore and St James’s, ICU in St James’s and Mr Toland and his operating team in St James’s.
We would also like to thank all who taxied Sylvester to Tullamore during his 9 years of dialysis.
Our thanks to the Irish Kidney Association particularly the Longford branch for their support over the years and many thanks to our kind friends and neighbours for organising a tractor run in his memory.
To all who lined the road to and from Ballinamuck and to the staff and colleagues in Cavan County Local Development who formed a guard of honour in Cavan.
Heartfelt thanks to the priest in St James’s hospital, to Fr Michael Mc Grath who offered the prayers in Glennons funeral home and in the house later on. To Fr Bernard Hogan, Fr Tom Murray and Fr Charlie Healy who all officiated on the day of the funeral and afterwards for the burial of ashes. To Fr Small who offered prayers in the crematorium.
Thanks to Eimear Reynolds and her brother Andrew for the beautiful music and songs in the church. Declan Gilmore for streaming the funeral service.

Sylvester’s 1st Anniversary Mass will take place on Sunday 7th August at 9.30am
in St Patrick's Church, Ballinamuck.
