who passed away on 1st August 2021.

As we remember Sheila on her first anniversary, we her family wish to acknowledge the many expressions of sympathy and kindness shown to us following our loss.

We offer our thanks to all our relatives, neighbours and many friends for their kindness and support to us. Thanks to the stewards and those who helped in absolutely any way, we are forever grateful. Thanks to those who travelled long distances to pay their respects. Thanks to all who sent floral wreaths, Mass cards, sympathy cards, letters, text messages, made phone calls and left messages of condolence on Special thanks to Fr Jim Kennelly for his unwavering support and comfort throughout her life.

Sincere thanks to Fr Joe Tarrant for celebrating the funeral Mass and to Joan and Sheila for their beautiful contribution in music and song. Special thanks to Joan for singing at the graveside. Thanks also to Fr Pat McCarthy for his support.

Thanks to Leo Fitzgerald for such a wonderful production of streaming the funeral Mass online. To our neighbours and friends who stood outside her home in Lakevale and to those who lined the way along the funeral route to pay their respects, our sincere and heartfelt thanks to you all.

A special thank you to Dr.Brendan Payne and the wonderful team at Woodbrook Family Practice. To all at Mary Sheehan’s Pharmacy whose help and advice was always invaluable to us. A sincere thank you to Dr. Deirdre Verling, as a family we are indebted to your dedication, care and support throughout the years. To all the dedicated doctors, nurses and healthcare professionals in St. Theresa’s ward, Mercy Hospital Cork who supported and cared for Sheila.

A special word of thanks to Tarrant Funeral Directors for their guidance, support and professionalism.

Sheila will be missed forever but we know that she will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

It would be impossible to thank everyone individually.  Please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our sincere appreciation and gratitude. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions. May Sheila’s gentle soul rest in eternal peace.

Life is but a stopping place,
a pause in what’s to be -
a resting place along the road
to sweet eternity.

And when the journey finally ends,
we’ll claim a great reward
and find an everlasting peace,
together with the Lord.

Sheila’s First Anniversary Mass will take place on Sunday , 31st July, in St. Patrick’s Church, Ballydesmond at 11.00am. All welcome.
