Denis slipped away peacefully on Friday 3, May, in the exceptional care of University Hospital, Galway with his beloved family by his side.

Predeceased by his brothers Donal and Joseph. Devoted to and dearly loved husband of Mary (née O’Doherty, Ennistymon) and father of Noelle, Gillian, and Aideen.

Deeply mourned by his wife and daughters, brother Pat, sons-in-law John McSweeney (Waterford), Brian MacMahon (Kinvara) and Art Fitzpatrick (Dublin). Much-loved ‘Papa’ to grandchildren Niall, Eoin and Avril, Jake and Lucy, Klara and Isaac. He will be greatly missed by his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours, and friends.

Reposing at the family home in Woodfield on Sunday, 5 May 2024 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Removal to the Church of Mary Immaculate Queen, Barna on Monday, 6 May to arrive in advance of Requiem Mass therein at 12 noon. Following Mass, Denis will be laid to rest in Rahoon cemetery. Mass will be live-streamed on 'Mary Immaculate Queen' webcam: churchtv.ie/barna.html and also broadcast on radio at 106.6 FM in the Bearna area.
