Mrs Scott was full of life and colour, she was a truly inspirational teacher. Some of my favourite memories were of the beautiful art room overlooking the courtyard in Sancta Maria and Mrs Scott would float between us giving encouragement and pushing us to create our best work. She gave me the courage to enter the Texaco art competition….. I even won a commendation! Sincere sympathies to her family,
Rest in Peace beautiful lady
— Fiona Crilly (Sancta Maria past pupil)
Sincere condolences to all of the Scott family on the loss of Nora.
I got to know her when she came to our school for a number of years after she'd retired, to judge the annual art competition. She was so nice & encouraging in praising all of the pupils' work & treated the occasion with as much importance as if it were the Oscars - well it was to us...
When I met her briefly in the theatre foyer in London at the opening night of Vanya, she was her usual friendly & gracious self. How lovely that she was able to be there & what a wonderful memory for all of you.
I always looked forward to her letters in The Irish Times - short & to the point, an art in itself!
You must all miss her terribly but a lifetime of great memories will be some consolation in the days ahead.
May Nora rest in peace.
Sheila FitzGerald
Former Principal, Good Shepherd N.S. Churchtown.

Sending deepest sympathy to the Scott family on the loss of a truly special lady. Nora was so kind to my sister and to me - total strangers - when asked a favour which she could so easily have ignored. Instead we had a lively and delightful correspondence with her which clearly showed how engaged she was with all matters artistic and how proud she was of her wonderful family. We can only imagine how much she will be missed. Rest in peace lovely Nora.

I'm so sorry to hear of "Mrs. Scott's" passing. Her classes were wonderful; relaxed and ambiguous. So much so, I have fond memories of her gently reprimanding me for whistling as I painted! She got me into NCAD, much to her own surprise as mine. She was a special lady, sincere condolences for your loss.

Though it's many years since I spoke to Nora, I have many happy memories of her. Nora was the best friend of my late wife, Ita Boyle, from Strabane when they both studied Art in St. Mary's, Belfast. In fact, it was Nora who introduced me to Ita, ample reason to remember her with great fondness and appreciate the great loss the Scott family must feel, on her sad death.
May she rest in peace.
