I was saddened to hear of Mikes passing - I have fond memories of him singing a song called “The juice of the Barley” during the local GAA Mayoral campaign back in the 80’s.
Mike did so much for Handball in Davidstown, I’m sure he’s smiling down tonight knowing that an All Ireland handball title came to the Club today!

We have lost a legend. Mick always had time for us young ones. Always there to advise us and have a chat at any time. He never judged anyone, and always used positive messaging to help to educate people. A Republican Socialist and Revolutionary to his toes. He will be sorely missed by the Republican community around Ireland and further afar. My condolences to his family. Go raibh maith agat comrade, you inspired so many and left a magnificent legacy. I'm very sorry to hear of the passing of Mickavic and pass our condolences to the O'Leary and Sharkey families.Mick was a huge supporter of Davidstown/Courtnacuddy handball club and GAA club over the years and we have very happy memories of Mick bringing us all over the county to handball games in his van. It was such a pleasure to have him as guest of honour at our official opening of our new handball alley last year on a night that meant so much to us all.Rest in peace Mick and thank you for your support of our club over all those years.
