Sean was in the same class in Monivea national school as our brother Monsignor James Loughnane RIP.
When Garda Cullen (Sean’s dad) passed away suddenly at Ryehill church in 1961, a young Fr Loughnane just newly ordained anointed him. Garda Cullen was the first person he anointed and the first funeral that Fr Loughnane ever did.

Sean attended Monsignor Jim’s silver jubilee of his ordination in 1986 in Monivea Galway.

50 years later in 2011, Monsignor Jim performing his niece’s wedding in Monivea where Jim met a granddaughter of Garda Cullen who is married to an uncle of the groom.
