It is with great sadness that we learn of the passing of Jim King.
We offer sincere and deepest sympathy to you Eucharia, to all your family and to the extended King and Keogh families, at this sad time for you all. While we didn’t know Jim in his working or personal life, we do have memories of his great support of Garrycastle and Westmeath football. His relentless support and his “Towering” presence at all of the Great GAA matches in Cusack Park and Garrycastle, particularly during the Glory days that both teams enjoyed over the years. The meaning of the “Shoulder to Shoulder” phrase had a different context for Jim and Seamus Nugent at the back of the stand in those days , closely discussing team form and the” Run of Play”, and I would have no doubt that if those exchanges were recorded there would be many a good book in the making.
May Jim rest in Peace.
