Sincere sympathy to you all on losing Ger. She always spoke of the exceptional support and love that all her friends continued to pour out on her - especially all the members of her extended family. I knew Ger in All Hallows: first in Pathways, then when she was doing the Masters in Pastoral Leadership and after that in Mount Merrion each year when she came for her Mam and Dad’s anniversary. In between, the odd cup of coffee and/or phone call may have happened too! We have all lost A LOVEABLE ROGUE - who in public with her friends always seemed to be showing her best and brightest side - with a natural gift of lighting up a room and affirming and encouraging everyone she met. Her so many obstacles were faced up to and worked through in her own unique determined way and while we all knew she must have had ‘bad’ days and frustrating moments - the most we saw of them was when she shared her challenges in the form of a story – often against herself! She did amazing to stay with us for so long in spite of the multiple difficulties, which only Ger could have weathered! We were so blessed to have had her in our lives and her personality was so big that she will always be with us because so many things will remind us of her over and over again. Ger, thank you for enriching our lives in so many ways – may you rest in and enjoy the new peace in which your ‘too many’ challenges in this life will be no more.
— Brenda O Tighearnaigh, All Hallows friend
