Dear Yvonne, Kevin, Fiona, Paul and Mark, we are so sorry about the passing of Ger. From reading the lovely condolences messages we feel we missed out big time, from not knowing her. The condolence messages just give us a glimpse of the wonderful person she was.

Sincere sympathy to Ger’s family and friends. It is heartening to read the messages here and to read of Ger’s impact on those who knew her and worked with her. I remember her from over 50 years ago at Stella Maris school when it was clear her stamina and warm personality would help make the world a better place. Rest in peace

So sorry to hear about Ger. She was always so positive and was a real go getter. She would often call to see us in Tramore and made sure everyone was included in the conversation, which was always liberally sprinkled with her infectious laugh. Ger was set a challenge in this life, did she complain, short answer is NO. She attacked it with Pride Honour and Integrity. Always so pleasant and helpful. Rest in peace now Ger and run those fields of Heaven like the whirlwind you were here on earth.

Ger was in my class since our first day in school and will remain a very important part of my childhood. She taught us all how to face and conquer any adversity with grace and a smile. Her strength and positivity in the face of challenges were truly inspiring, and I know she is now basking in the well-earned rewards of Heaven. May she find eternal peace by God's side.

Deepest condolences to Yvonne, Dee and Ger’s extended family at this sad time. I feel so lucky to have known Ger over the last six years and I can't believe she has passed. I will miss her laugh, and stories, and will never forget our lovely meal we had together when she took me out for a spin in her car to the Rochestown Lodge Hotel. Sincere sympathy to you all on losing Ger. She always spoke of the exceptional support and love that all her friends continued to pour out on her - especially all the members of her extended family. I knew Ger in All Hallows: first in Pathways, then when she was doing the Masters in Pastoral Leadership and after that in Mount Merrion each year when she came for her Mam and Dad’s anniversary. In between, the odd cup of coffee and/or phone call may have happened too! We have all lost A LOVEABLE ROGUE - who in public with her friends always seemed to be showing her best and brightest side - with a natural gift of lighting up a room and affirming and encouraging everyone she met. Her so many obstacles were faced up to and worked through in her own unique determined way and while we all knew she must have had ‘bad’ days and frustrating moments - the most we saw of them was when she shared her challenges in the form of a story – often against herself! She did amazing to stay with us for so long in spite of the multiple difficulties, which only Ger could have weathered! We were so blessed to have had her in our lives and her personality was so big that she will always be with us because so many things will remind us of her over and over again. Ger, thank you for enriching our lives in so many ways – may you rest in and enjoy the new peace in which your ‘too many’ challenges in this life will be no more.

Had the privilege of meeting Ger on the Dalkey Parish Council. What an inspiring and positive individual. An inspiration to us all. Never a complaint or negativity.

I was very sorry to hear of the passing of Geraldine. She was justifiably very well liked by staff & pupils at school. Despite the physical challenges she faced , she was always pleasant, good humoured & keen to learn -in a word, a joy to teach. Sincere sympathy to all members of her family . I worked with Ger in the MSW Dept. Rotunda Hospital and she was a very supportive colleague and always willing to share the vast knowledge and experience she had. Rest in peace Ger.
