I’ve been so sad since I heard of Alan’s passing I knew Alan from our college days although different courses. He was always a very personable & kind character. You could see the good in him even back then.
I live in the US now, so I wanted to pass on my condolences on this. Thinking of his wife & children and his parents & siblings, god be good to you all in the days ahead. May Alan’s rest in peace.

What can I say Alan was one of the nicest guys in school and it seems to have continued into his adult life too judging from the outpouring of grief in Barrowhouse and Athy, and indeed from many sporting clubs, I was saddened to learn of his passing when family contacted me, he always had time for me I wasn’t the most popular I was very quiet & shy growing up but he never failed to try to include me.
We lost touch over the years as I moved abroad
Please hold this in your hearts to The Langton family, your son was one of the best and to his kids it seems that he still was, be proud of that do not let life tarnish your memories for I never will.
May he rest in peace I’ll never forget him x

Sincerest sympathies to all. Went to Secondary school with Alan in the eighties and hadn't seen him since. My Ma informed me of his passing so I just said I'd leave a little note of condolence and from looking at all the condolences it seems he had such admiration from so many and will be missed. Rest in peace Alan.
