Philomena (Mena) McEwen

 Philomena (Mena) McEwen

Letterkenny, Donegal

We, the family of the late Mena McEwen, wish to express our heartfelt gratitude to all those who sympathised with us on the recent passing of Mena “Mum” McEwen.

To all those who attended the Wake/Funeral or watched online, sent cards, left online condolences, phone or text, your support and messages of sympathy gave us great comfort.

We would like to extend our deep appreciation to all the loving Carers who cared for Mena in her own home and to all the HSE (Home Care Services), Public Health Care Nurses, OT Department and Occupational Therapists, Letterkenny Doctors, Donegal Hospice, and NowDoc.

We would also like to thank Paschal Blake, Funeral Director and his wonderful team who attended to Mum and who treated her with such care and dignity and those who prepared the grave.

A special thanks also to Eunan and Rachel and the team from Macs Mace for all the catering throughout the wake and, indeed, all those who helped out so willingly.

To Terry and Loretto and the staff of the Mount Errigal Hotel for the refreshments after the funeral.

Sincere thanks to Fr. Ciaran, Fr. Paddy and Fr. Dominic for the beautiful Requiem Mass and to Gabrielle and the Church of the Irish Martyrs Choir for their heartfelt & beautiful singing throughout the Mass.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, we hope that this acknowledgement will be accepted by all as a token of our gratitude.

Our lips cannot speak how we loved her,

Our hearts cannot tell what to say,

But God only knows how we miss her,

In our home, it is lonely today.

The Month’s Mind Mass for Mena McEwen will be held on Sunday, 28th April 2024, at 11.30am in the Church of the Irish Martyrs, Ballyraine, Letterkenny.
