Stephen Mulcahy

Knockadoon, Ballymacoda, Cork

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Stephen (Steve) Mulcahy, who passed away suddenly at his home in Edmonton, Alberta on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at the age of 45. He was the loving son of Lily (nee Harrington) and the late Patrick (2023), and the cherished brother of Darren (Angela), Marian (Kent), John, Elaine (Pablo), and his late sister-in-law Jennifer (2013). He was a proud uncle to Aidan, Matthew, Lauren, Samuel, Evan, and William. Stephen will be deeply missed by his extended family and friends both here in Canada and Ireland.

Stephen had a deep love for Canada’s northern territories and west coast, where he lived in Nunavut, British Columbia, and Alberta over the past 20+ years. He was a true wanderer, always seeking new experiences and challenges. His artistic soul and intelligence were evident in everything he did. He generously shared his talents and passions, whether it was through his drawings and design when he was younger, his extensive collection of Indigenous art, and his love for all types of music. Stephen's legacy will be defined by his great sense of humour and his genuine, open-hearted nature. Proud of his Irish heritage, Stephen was born in County Cork, Ireland and lived there until he was 11 years old, shaping his strong sense of identity as an Irish Canadian.

A Welder by trade, Stephen was a dedicated member of the Boilermaker Union -Lodge 146 Alberta. He took pride in his work as a skilled Pressure TIG Welder and appreciated the camaraderie of his fellow Brothers and Sisters.
