So sorry to have missed the funeral of Paddy which I would have loved to attend. I hadn't known Paddy was unwell, hadn't heard in a while from him. Condolences to Rita and Betty.
Many fond memories from knowing Paddy in recent years are from the end of his time in Longford around 2000s, as he moved to Carrick beside my dad Brian with his friend the late David and then onto his own place in Breffni Crescent.
Paddy really enjoyed life best it seems from his move to Carrick on Shannon welcomed by nice neighbours.
I often saw him go into the late Eamon & Bridie Taylor's grocery shop for chats, as Eamon's grandson David has recalled, and once when I was calling in there.
Paddy recalled his visits there to me talking to Eamon about the state of the Nation after Eamon passed with fondness. He used enjoy a walk every Sunday with Bimbo to the Carboot Markets passing Cortober on the Boyle Road. So sorry to hear of his recent illness. A pleasant man was Paddy. No doubt he and my late father Brian will catch up in chat along with the late David in heaven on life past.
