It was with great sadness that we only recently learnt of the passing of Orla and our deep condolences go to her husband Martin, her daughters and all the family. We remember her fondly, living opposite her family home on the Howth Road in Clontarf, where the Giles family were wonderful neighbours.

Dear Martin - my most sincere condolences to you and your family and to the Giles family. I’m sorry my message is late - I’ve only just seen the very sad news on Orla’s Facebook page. We met when we were 14 (when I was staying near Orla’s family home) and I spent a wonderful summer with Orla and her brothers & sisters. We connected via Facebook a few years ago but unfortunately with covid and then Orla’s illness we never got to meet again in person. But we spoke via messenger several times and it was lovely to find her and hear about you all - I’ll treasure her messages. It was clear to me how much she loved you and your beautiful girls and grand children. I’m not sure if Orla’s mum, dad, John, Enda or Eileen will remember me (the younger ones won’t) but please pass on my condolences to them. My thoughts are with you all. Sharon
