Can’t believe you’re no longer with us, but you’ll certainly be with me, in my thoughts forever. Although I’ve not seen you for over 20 years because of our move to Oz, we’ve regularly messaged each other to keep up to date with all the gos. You leave me with many fond and hilarious memories stretching back well over 50 years. R.I.P. Nigel and Cheers mate! X 🍻🍻

I have lost a life long friend with whom i spent some great times together both on and off the soccer pitch. Life seems that bit emptier without Nige's infectious enthusiam and sense of humour.Gay my heart felt condolences at the loss of your life partner. You did everything possible for him. Nigel it was a life well lived and to be celebrated. A truly loyal Old Chigwellian and friend. You will be dearly missed but always remembered by those of us who had the privilege of knowing you. Nigel was a true legend and a total gentleman who will be missed dearly by his Old Chigwellian peers, footballers and friends. His tenacity and determined spirit made him a loyal and life long friend.
Nigel was affectionately known as 'Pop' at the OC Committee meetings and footballing events - a title which summed up his inclusive nature and appreciation of his skills as a footballer and patriarch within the OC community.
