Michael Heneghan gave us a wonderful childhood memory which I have told many about over the years.
He was the school tour driver for us in Louisburgh and one year he made his way onto the runway at Knock airport before it opened. He drew back his window, pulled the mic close and booted it down the runway with the commentary and background whoosh of the wind to mimic a flight taking off. We squealed with delight.
He had no idea then of the imprint which that devilment and fun had on our memories for years after.
May he rest in peace x.
