Condolences to Kathleen and family on the very sad passing of Liam.
I have very happy memories of working with Liam in Dublin Corporation's Finance Department where his quick fire wit kept us all entertained. We had a common shared interest in good music and I recall Liam recording concerts we attended with the largest piece of portable equipment imaginable. He used to act as DJ at the Christmas parties but still managed to get out on the dance floor simultaneously which was some feat. He always played a couple of Rory Gallagher songs specially for me!
I also played football with Liam in the inter departmental competition and he was renowned as a formidable centre half. He also captained/managed the team and when substituting a player would very kindly ask that player if he would like to take a rest!!. Always a gentleman! Great memories.
