Dep P@T coax fault Repeater stations had to be switch to local power while fault been located .Liam Noonan was sharp no nonsense good old stock Inspector with the Dep of P@T new his job.I used to be driving J.P.Cooper in a commer van thats when i first met Liam Noonan on a coax fault J.P.Cooper was the faults man old stock ex youthin training and a T.O. Jointer.It was a professional job then Dep P@T. I am 65 years now often around Carrickonshannon Liam Noonan always came to my mind.Thank God he had a good long life times and things have changed from those Dep P@T days. From memory tall man shirt and tie spick and span as a Inspector.

Liam was a people's person,much thought of and very fair towards his staff and to my late brother Lorcan, in his role as Manager with Telecom Eireann in Longford and beyond. In the days when smoking a pipe was still a sign of wisdom, Liam and great friends like Michael, Walter, Willie, Tony and Pat could have run the country and had great sport doing so! Instead, the people of Ruskey got that blessing and the benefit of his intelligent conversation. Please God they'll all be waiting to welcome him home to Heaven. RIP.
