My sincere sympathy to Larry's wife and daughters, to the extended Masterson family and to all those who mourn Larry's passing. I met Larry in the late '70's / early 80's through my involvement with the Cavan International Song Contest. Contact was maintained and Larry later invited me to serve as a (very nervous) Jury member in the company of, inter alia, Donie Cassidy, BP Fallon on a 'live' RTE /TV talent competition. Larry was always reassuring and his contributions to the 'review' sessions in the canteen were insightful and often hilarious. I followed Larry's stellar media and business career through the years. He was first and foremost a genuinely nice guy, talented, always courteous and self-deprecating. Rest in Peace, Larry. Thanks for the memories.

Sincere condolences to Larry's family and friends. Like so many here, he gave my career a boost when I was looking after guests in hospitality on Open House. We used to have great chats in the early mornings when he'd often pop in before the day had properly begun. That's how he knew that I wanted to work in other areas of TV so he got me on screen a few times as a television reviewer. The following year I used clips from my stint there to get a gig as a showbiz reporter on The Afternoon Show and 20 years later I'm still working in TV and radio...Larry took a chance on me like so, so many other people because he cared. He was that breed who had passion for the people around him and the work they were doing. May he rest in peace.
— Trevor Keegan, RTÉ
I worked for Larry many moons ago in Emdee, he was a great producer & a really good guy to work with. My sincere condolences to Hazel & the family.

There was no one like Larry! He made an impact on so many people's lives. He gave me my first shot at being a researcher on Saturday Night with Miriam. I was then lucky enough to work with him on The Saturday Night Show and The Late Late Show. He was a huge influence on my career. I have so many happy memories working with him and I learned a lot. He was a force, great craic, kind and passionate.

My condolences to his adored Hazel, Tara and Kerri, all of us in RTE heard him speak about his family with such love and pride. He sent me pictures when he became a Granddad, he was thrilled!

I was shocked and saddened to learn of Larry's passing. I first came to know him as far back as the 1970s. He had great humanity and great ability as a communicator. Despite his success in the tough world of the media, he never lost the run of himself and remained a kind, warm-hearted guy with a sense of humour. He will be greatly missed. My condolences to his family.

Hazel, Kerri and Tara, I am so sorry to hear of Larry’s death-far too soon. He was a brilliant producer, a terrific colleague and a thoroughly decent man. We had many’s the argument about editorial matters, but thankfully it was only ever about work and never affected our friendship. Professionally, I held him in the highest regard, and personally I was so very fond of him. You three were his pride and joy, and when we last met in 2023 I got a full and detailed account of all your achievements. Eugene and I still remember the glorious day we spent with you all on the Shannon. He really did live a good life ! Rest in peace, Larry.

Such fond memories of Larry. Scooting out of the production office early to get to the canteen in Ardmore Studios before anyone else - because then Trevor would agree to serve us egg and chips. (Much to the annoyance of many others.)

His kindness, generosity of spirit, not giving a rats what anyone said - because he just wanted to encourage/mentor/support those entering the production business - is missed.

I was a single parent- without a car. Larry made sure I got to work , got home, was able to earn a living.

My condolences to Larry’s family and to all of us in production family, who had the privilege of working with him.
— Max Brady
