Such sad news i received on Sunday by Mai by message on Johns passing.such a gentalman great memories of the Harrington family when i would leave my bicicle in at the back of theor house while i got the bus.to school the lovely smell of dinner the children out playing and always a digger in the drive.John will be a sad loss to everyone that knew him.sympathy to Mai

Condolences are extended to the Harrington family on the passing of John, a prominent founder member of our club who was vice captain of our original team in 1963 and beyond, and regular full back for our first eight years. John went on to serve as treasurer and vice chairman, and his family was embedded in the history of Dunsany for generations. News of his passing was received with sadness - Dunsany GFC.

I recall John as a calm mild mannered man. Patrick was one of four boys in my class in Dunsany NS. and John never seemed to mind us tumbling on his
front lawn, while Mai made the chips (fries) to restore and refuel us.
John will always be remembered in Dunsany; in the playing fields, or down at the crossroads. Ar dheis Dé.

Sincere sympathy to you and all the family on John's passing. My family and the Harrington family go way back. John's Dad was a great friend of my grandfather, David Lynch, Warrenstown. My happiest childhood memory is the year John and Thos planted the field beside our home with strawberries. What a lovely summer! John will never be forgotten by Dunsany people.

Mai losing anyone from your life is terrible but the loss of John is one of the worst. For someone you have loved more than almost anyone and spent your life with, the pain must be immense. How I remember being your bridesmaid the day you married. I hope God will grant you the strength to bear this loss along with Michael Alan Niamh Patrick and their families.
