John A. McCARTHY

I was so sorry to learn of John's recent unexpected death. John was a pleasure to work with. In the few times we had occasion to challenge the system, his depth of knowledge was huge and his sense of fun in winning was refreshing. He will be sadly missed and you are in our prayers.

I was very sad to hear the news of John’s passing. I have fond memories of working with him in Ranelagh Players & Leeson Park Players. A gifted director and actor, he will be sorely missed.

It was with great shock and sadness we heard of John's sudden passing especially having been in contact with him in recent weeks and as always was in top form. John has been an inspiration to me, both in the time I spent in the office with himself & Phil, right through my career and indeed to this day, with his time, guidance & expertise. As first cousins living at opposite ends of the country we seldom met but whenever we did it was a pleasure to meet him. As far as I know John is the only member of our McCarthy clan to follow his McCarthy grandfather into acting. His grandfather acted in many plays in Rosscarbery in the 1920s. May John rest in peace.
