My thoughts are with you in these trying times. Jacinta was a wonderful colleague who did so much for George Sand Studies and literary studies and we will all miss her very much. I last saw her in Dublin and will always remember how vibrant and positive she was. Please, accept my most sincere condolences.

We've lost an astute, imaginative scholar and a beautiful person. My heart goes out to her family, whom she loved immensely.

We are deeply saddened by the death of our brilliant colleague Jacinta. We all remember the wonderful colloquium she organized in Dublin.

George Sand once wrote: "The woman I shall become will be quite different from the woman I am now. Another is beginning, and so far I have not had to complain of her." Jacinta's friends throughout the world are sadly deprived of seeing her brilliant and loving new self emerge.

Ayant rencontré Jacinta en 2004 à Cerisy ainsi qu' à Dublin, je me souviens d'une personnalité aussi chaleureuse pour ses collègues que passionnée par son travail, et d'un abord très sympathique pour qui n'avait pas encore fait sa connaissance. Je prie sa famille d'accepter mes condoléances émues, avec l'assurance que Jacinta continuera de vivre dans le souvenir de ceux qui l'ont connue.

Jacinta's brilliant scholarship is eclipsed only by her palpable generosity and kindness. The chats we had - at Cerisy, at the Dublin conference, on facebook - are a constant and highly pleasant memory for me. My thoughts are with her family during these difficult times.

This is with great sadness and emotion that I heard of Jacinta's passing. I had the pleasure to meet and work with her when I was in Galway from 2004 to 2013. I remember her as a kind, joyful and generous person, always ready to help and share. I will never forget the support she selflessly offered me at the start of my career. My sincere condolescences to her children, husband and family, hoping that the memory of the precious moments spent with her will bring you some comfort and help you heal. May she live in your hearts and rest in peace.
