Rest in peace, wonderful God Mother Doreen, and great friend of my late mum, Carmel hunt nee O’Connor and my late
aunt, Bernadette Hart nee O’Connor. I recall many happy times when Doreen visited us in London and Devon and also Jersey. I also recall us staying at Doreen and Tom’s house when I was about 10 years old. Mum and Doreen used to have very long chats on the telephone about people they knew in Dublin and Doreen would update mum about all of her family. Doreen was also mum’s matron of honour at her wedding in September 1963 in Highgate church in London. Doreen was such a good and kind hearted person, she was a modern day example of the salt of the earth. The amount of volunteering she did was just so admirable and would have been so appreciated by all. She will be very greatly missed by all who knew her.
— Colette Wilson nee Hunt

It was with great sadness that I learned of the recent death of Doreen from Helen her niece. Doreen along with her siblings, especially her sisters Nell, Angela, and May were very much part of my Mother Maureen Brennan's (nee O'Reilly) life for a very long time.

Through my mother Maureen I got to know Doreen and was always delighted to see her and chat to her as she was truly a lovely person, so kind, considerate and empathetic, being strong and independant also....... a true lady...I will remember her fondly and she will never be forgotton.

I extend my deepest sympathies to all of her family members and friends at this sad time

Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam dílise.
