Carmel Byrne (née Fay)
Newcastle Upper, Co. Wicklow and formerly Terenure, Dublin
Carmel passed away on Monday, 6th May 2024, in her 90th year, after a short illness, surrounded by her loving family. She is predeceased by her husband Andy, stepdaughter Mary, brothers Laurence, Fr. Myles, Gabriel, and her sister Sr. Marie.
Dearly loved and sadly missed by her stepchildren Michael, Dominic, Joe, Monica (O’Brien), Paul, Laurence, Ann and Gerry, and by her sister Kathleen Byrne, brothers Joe and Paddy Fay, daughters-in-law Carmel Jnr, Elizabeth, Noreen, Margaret, Debbie and Ann-Marie, son-in-law David, and by her nineteen cherished grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and many friends.
Reposing at her home Dún Mhuire, Newcastle Upper, Co. Wicklow on Tuesday 7th May, from 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm.
House strictly private before this time.
Carmel had a long commitment to donate her body to science and this wish is being respected following the reposal.
A Memorial Mass will be held for Carmel in St. Anthony’s Church, Kilcoole, on Friday 10th May at 10am.
